The West Rutland Marsh has been officially recognized by the National Audubon society as an Important Bird Area. There are both rare and common species of birds and other various types of wildlife in abundance. A boardwalk, which is ADA accessible, allows for enhanced wildlife viewing opportunities.

The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center is a unique establishment that offers various artistic educational programs with an emphasis on marble sculpting. There are accredited programs from one week to two months long taught by twenty regular and several guest instructors.
